Etnicanet's third release returns to the dancefloor with an Etnica single for all the vinyl junkies. Both sides of this 12" boast immaculate production. Tracktor Activity and 1056 encapsulate a constantly evolving and internationally acclaimed sound, this time immersed in a dark, futuristic technisensor journey. "traktor activity" ripples out immense progressive inertia with its percussive progression and ferocious hihat/cymbal lines. Mechano-cubicles of processed sound are klunked into position between the beats as all elements gallop away in pleasant rhythmics. The kickdrum is pure sonic delight, though it's embedded so well into the track that only a serious soundsystem will do the job. Tensions arise with sharp percussions a' la Small Doses, till a break spawns the final recap and the closing climax. The continuous elasto-bassline is occasionally pinched up by its harmonic catalysts, giving the floor a dislocating shake, while the incessant mid-range hypnosis trickles the dancefloor into a small gnosis. "1056" scans the bio-sonic spectrum with its high-pitch emanation, opening the sci-fi darkness of this massive track. High-tone pinches and droplets of sound stimulate a rising stomp with recurring high-frequency ticklers. Huge atmospherics are inhibited by the digital absence of a sculpted, regular snare line that renders 1056 a foreshadowing creeper of macabre climaxes. An androgynous female vocal sample interacts with very subtle vocoder sprinkles, creating soundscapes that are immersed in a contorted & beautiful dance of robotics.
