After a stint as a trance DJ in the late 90's, Nick West drew inspiration from that experience and has been working as a full time music producer since 2000. In 2004 Nick started his own record label, Floatation Records. Soon after he released the progressive / tribal project - OCULUS, in collaboration with Michael Edwards. Since the release of Oculus, Nick has spent the past two years working in the studio developing his unique style of trance. Over the Australian summer Nick played along side many respected trance artists supporting such acts as Infected Mushroom, Andromeda, Halucinogen and Antix. The experience of playing live at outdoor festivals and club nights helped with the refining and polishing of the new sound of Floattank. The new Floattank album, titled Touch The Void is best described as a deep and funky, atmospheric journey into progressive trance. Drawing heavily on influences from electro Through to progressive house. His new sound breaks from the norm with a fresh dynamic perspective on dance floor friendly prog. Mastered by Barton Strom of Antix fame, Slowburning Studios have given the album some extra sheen!
