Empty Hand originates in the translation of the Japanese word Kara (empty), te (hand), thus Empty Hand=Karate. Traditional Karate is a beautiful, ancient, weapon less art of self-defense. In the practice of karate the mind and body are inseparable: They harmonize with each other.Karate practice is divided into three aspects: Kihon (basics), Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). Karate can be learned by anyone, regardless of age, physical strength and state. Through karate one unlearns bad habits accumulated through modern life: movement, posture, breathing, as well as mental and psychological obstacles. In Karate there is no first attack. This album is dedicated to this precious and humble way of life, it is composed of 9 mind-blowing masterpieces, created by 11 exceptional innovative Israeli artists that each give his thought, moves and ideas. The album opens with an Intro (10 tracks all together), which leads the listener to the beginning of a journey, sliding through and resembling the complexity, cleanness, richness and beauty of karate, its amazing history thoughts and perceptions. The album varies in sound and style crossing through psytrance genres, moving from progressive to full on, minimal to ambient with touches of groove and solid bass lines.
