The third in the enormously successful Origin series, ‘Origin – Stage 3’ is compiled by Ans, our main man in the UK and is a celebration of his stage at the mighty Glade Festival held in July each year. It is to be released at the same time as Nano Records’ annual Origin Festival in Cape Town and features 9 brilliant tracks from artists that have played at the Glade Festival over the last 3 years. Starting with an absolutely classic remix by Allaby of ‘Angel of my Soul’, a track taken from the album ‘Forwards’ by a band that has recently been getting enormous attention across the music press around the Globe – The Egg. Their track ‘Walking Away’, also from ‘Forwards’ has been a massive hit with its Tocadisco Remix. This is followed by ‘Lightning Games’, a blinding cellophane wrapped tune from new NANO signing Laughing Buddha and then comes a track written by Ans under his Electric Ant guise with Anton of The Commercial Hippies. ‘Electric Hippy’ is a full-on progressive tinged 303 whopper and leads you into the searingly powerful AMD remix of ‘Depends on you’ from Tristan’s new album ‘Chemisphere’ that is to be released on Nano Records later in 2007. There’s no let up as we head into the stunning production of The Commercial Hippies’ “Queggestion Box’ and on into a piece of dancefloor heaven from one of our favourite artists – Zen Mechanics’ Disco Pixie is a slice of brilliance. Next up is one of the fattest tracks we’ve heard in a while; Stunning production and wonderful noises from Headroom on ‘Artelligent’. Hydrophonic are back with their excellently named ‘Heckyl ‘n Jive’ and the CD is finished off with a remix from serious new up and comers Flip-Flop of that classic tune from Eskimo & Madcap – ‘Take a look out there’.
