Phenix is the debut compilation from Tokyo based Phreex Networx, a division of Chikuya which is one of the most popular organisers of underground psychedelic trance parties in Japan. Conceptualised and compiled by label A&R and DJ Ken (also a label DJ for Parvati Records), this project was inspired by the work of the late, great Japanese anime and manga cartoonist Osamu Tezuku. When first published, his work was not well understood by the Japanese people, in the same way that psychedelic trance is not well understood by the most public now.
