Cyrus the Virus is the solo project of Jan-Willem Bot (aka William Wallace), an apprentice of G.M.S. from a young age, he started djing in parties and in clubs in Amsterdam in 1995. After that, he began his Dj tour in Portugal with great success. Inspired to create his own music around the year 2000, Cyrus began to build his own studio in Amsterdam and made his first track called "Dragonpoll Z" together with Dj Poli that was released on Waganga Records (Brasil). In 2002, he combined forces with G.M.S. on “William Wallace”, an epic track that set the stage for Cyrus the Virus in the trance scene.
Releases on spun compilations Pressure (2003) & Zero-1 (2004), created a great deal of demand for Cyrus in 2004, with tours in Mexico, South America & Europe. Cyrus is going global.
His album “Subliminal” on Spun Records is not for the light hearted. A full on album featuring collaborations with G.M.S. & Shanti Matkin (aka Juvenile) among a few big name artists that have helped Cyrus develop a quality of sound that is heard throughout the Cyrus album. One of the trance scenes new artists to keep you eye on for 2005.
